The Wall That Heals Coming to White Bear Lake
The White Bear Lake Area Historical Society, in conjunction with White Bear Township, VFW Post 1782, and American Legion Post 168, is proud to announce that the White Bear Lake community has been selected to host The Wall That Heals (TWTH). This three-quarter scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, accompanied by a mobile Education Center, will be on display August 6 – 9 at Polar Lakes Park.
This powerful traveling exhibit honors the more than three million Americans who served in the U.S. Armed Forces during the Vietnam War. It bears the names of the 58,281 men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in Vietnam, offering visitors a moving opportunity for reflection, remembrance, and education.
Deb Courts-Brown, past president of Auxiliary 1782 and current Department of Minnesota District 4 President, is coordinating volunteers to support this four-day event. Coverage is needed 24 hours a day, and up to 400 volunteers will serve in a variety of roles through four-hour shifts.
Auxiliary and Post members are strongly encouraged to volunteer and be part of this meaningful community event. A full description of volunteer roles and available shifts can be found at the link below. To sign up, please visit:
